Essie & Pure Ice black and teal crackle

For this manicure I used Essie- Licorice which is a very shiny black polish. I also layered it under Pure Ice Crackle- Strike a Pose. I got the Essie from Target or ULTA a while ago...I really can't remember but it was well worth it, its such a perfect black. The consistency of the black is amazing, just liquidly enough that is opaque in two coats. I got the Pure Ice Crackle at Walgreens about a month ago. In the pictures the crackle seems pretty blue but its really more of a teal color. Although i did a pretty thin coat of the crackle it didn't crack as much as I wanted it to..for $3.99 I think it was definitely worth the money but I would not have paid more for it.

How do you guys like it? Have you tried any of the other Pure Ice crackles? Also, would you guys like me to post about the upcoming collections that are coming out? I know I see a billion posts about them so it gets SOO repetitive that I don't feel like posting about it but if you want I totally will!!

China Glaze- Emerald Fitzgerald

Every single China Glaze I get makes me love the brand more and more. The formula on this brand is just amazing in my eyes, and this was no different. Emerald Fitzgerald was released in the 2010 Vintage Vixen Collection and it is a deep deep teal and is described as a 'frost' but personally I see tiny specks of glitter in it. Whatever it is theres no getting over the obvious shimmer that makes this polish so pretty. Now the obvious dupe for this polish is OPI's- Cuckoo for This Color which I reviewed here. The CG is  a deeper teal if you look really hard but to the regular joe they are pretty much the same (except I bought this polish for $2.99 and the OPI for $8.50).  This is another polish that from far away and to the naked eye has the 'almost black' look which you know I love in my vampies!

I got this polish from Mandee after I had an interview for a position there.  I was given a coupon after my interview so obviously had to go check out the polishes hahah. I got this one and two others =)

Peeptoes is a dark dark teal polish with a pretty crappy (thin) consistency BUT it was on sale for $1.49 so like the Essence polish (irreplaceable) I really cant complain because what do you really expect for that price? Anyways I think this polish really complimented my skin tone..although it made me look a little pale I think it looked good! It was so dark it had that 'almost black' look going which I think just looks SOO CHIC. Enough said, I'm in love.

Maybe a month or two ago I won one prize of Also Known As...'s 2,000 follower giveaway and this beauty was one of my gifts. This polish is a perfect teal and GREAT for summertime. I guess I'm really just negative but I wasn't expecting the formula of a Claire's polish to be so freakin awesomeeeeee!! This covered great in about three coats minus a few bald spots at the base of the nail..boy was I wrong. Anyways after I painted the Claire's polish i was looking through my stash and realized that I hadn't used the MNY silver sparkle that I got in my swap with AccroPolish so I added that on top. I love the final product..its about time I did something colorful and crazy! ahaha. 

Ulta Haul!!

Hey guys, this is going to be a non-swatch post but I just so so excited and wanted to show you all of the new polishes I bought today from my local Ulta!

Here we go:

Left to Right: Bombshell by Ulta, Iris upon Stars by Piggy Polish, Aruba Blue by Essie, OPI Ink by OPI, One Less Lonely Glitter by Nicole (by OPI), Elle's Spell by Barielle and Decadence by Barielle

First off we have Bombshell by Ulta. It's a bright red jelly with holo glitter throughout. From what I have tested, it seems to lean pink. Clearance for $2.99

Second is Iris Upon Stars by Piggy Polish. It's a very vibrant purple with the SLIGHTEST bit of pink sparkle in it, almost too slight for the eye to see! It even comes with a toe ring =) $7.50

Third is Aruba Blue by Essie. It has a dark navy base with light blue shimmer.  The polish reminds me of a sapphire. You know what makes it even better? I just found out that this is the polish that Emily Blunt wears throughout most of the movie The Devil Wears Prada AND the polish that tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) wears most of the episodes of Glee! $8.00 

Fourth is OPI Ink by OPI. This polish is an AMAZING mix of blue and purple lacquer with pink micro-glitter throughout.  It is from the OPI Night Brights Collection. $8.50

Fifth is One Less Lonely Glitter by Nicole by OPI. This polish is a very dense purple glitter set in an almost sheer purple base. Covers pretty fully in 2 coats, although I would do three. $7.99

Sixth is Elle's Spell by Barielle.  Its a flaky red jelly polish which came out for Holiday 2010.  I CANNOT wait to try this polish, its been on my lemmings list since I've made one and i finally got it..on clearance! $2.99

Last but not least is Decadence by Barielle.  It is a teal with a shimmery finish from the Sugar Rush Collection.

Oh yeah, Gettin Flashy!

Oh hayy, this post I'm showing you one of the most flashy manicures I have ever done...I used Seal the Teal from Tip Toe an Old Navy polish and Party Of Five Glitters by Wet n Wild.

You know you love it!! I know the last picture looks pretty weird, its WAYY too overexposed but I wanted to show you the glitter bottle. As you can tell the Tip Toe polish is a dark teal with a stellar application.  Perfect consistency although I had to do a bunch of clean up because I got pretty messy haha. I'm sorry I couldn't get a picture of the polish before I put the sparkles on, I totally forgot :X

The sparkles were REALLY easy to put on surprisingly.  Obviously you can't just 'paint' them on like you do regular polish so what I did was just get a ton of polish on the brush and slightly touch the brush to the nail and do that in a couple of spots around your nail until its fully covered.  This way you get enough sparkles on your nail and it looks even.

Well there you go, a little polish tip from me (although I'm sure its not a new concept haha).  Hope you enjoy this mani, I know I did! Seee yaa

Mermaid to Order

Holaa chicas =) Im writing this post while watching the most boring thing that has ever hit the television waves, The State of the Union haha. Politics are not my thing and to be quite honest I'm glad I don't have to deal with it yet- woot woot that I was not 18 before the last presidential election lol, at least I can put off growing up in the political world for a few years which I'm excited about.

Okay down to business. Although I LOVED the polish in my last post, there was a lot of tip wear so here I am again.  As promised I used a polish today that is totally unlike me, because one-its sort of iridescent, and two- its sephora (I always used to hate Sephora polish) but even after all of that, this polish has to be one of my favorites.

I used Sephora's Mermaid to Order by OPI, i'ts great and I think EVERYONE should go out today and buy itt!

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

As you can tell, it really does look like the color you think a mermaid is lol.  Although it looks like there should be a hint of blue looking at the bottle, there really is none (maybe just an undertone).  It is very much a teal cream and although I could not capture it perfectly in this picture, it has sort of a metallic finish.  This polishes application was pristine, it only took me two coats for opacity ( you could get away with one depending on what you want it to look like).  It covered easily and was the perfect consistency, I didn't even have to do touch ups with nail polish remover, it was easy to tame and it didn't run into my cuticles. 

It is definitely worth the whopping $9 in my eyes.
