OPI- Tickle My France-y

I've worn OPI's Tickle my France-y a million times before and decided it was time to show it on my blog. I showed it here in two different kind of lights, it's really a combination of the both. Its a sheer nude-y pink that I love with my olive skin tone (and I've seen it on other bloggers with fair skin tones and it looks gorgeous on them also).  This is one of my favorite OPI's and actually one of my first, it's so sophisticated and I even wore it on most of my recent job interviews. SO CLASSY. haha... Who else is in love!?

Ulta- Bombshell

Here is a swatch of Ulta Bombshell that I got from my Ulta Haul this winter.

In reality this polish is a berryish jellyish color, a little more pink than the picture shows but I just couldn't seem to capture that. Anywhoo, I hate this color. This is three coats and a TC.  Since there are holographic giltters within and since I did 3 coats it dried very gritty, even with two coats of TC. I'm not sure why I hate it so much but its just not my cup of tea. The application was pretty good otherwise, it stained my skin a little though.

Do any of you have this polish? Other bloggers seem to love it, do you?

Essie- Island Hopping!

I went a little picture happy today so bear with me haha. I've been doing so much posting today..way to be on top of things Lauren =) I have a nice green to show you next for St. Patty's Day but for this post I am showing you...

Island Hopping by Essie.

*All of these photos were taken inside under and artificial light source.

So...about this polish.  I was taking full inventory of every Essie polish that Walgreens had when I stumbled upon one that wasn't a "normal Essie".  By normal Essie I mean, a sheer light pink or pastel. Isn't it true? Because of this I just had to have it.  Although the color is pretty, I'm not sold.  The application was only so-so, a bit thick compared to the other experiences I've had with Essie polishes.  Not surprisingly this polish chipped in about 1 1/2 days of wearing it.  I used this polish over break so I wasn't really doing any hands on activities either, hmmm. (sleeping doesn't really require much of that lol). Well, for what it was worth I'd say it was a worthwhile purchase. The color was just brown enough so it's not a "pink"..more of a mauve haha. I love how I have to talk myself out of colors being pinks so I will like them more, such a bad habit of mine. ($8)

How do you guys like this color? Have any of you tried it and had trouble with the consistency like I did?

P.S- Don't you just wish you could have an in house nail shaper extraordinaire sometimes. My shape is getting just a little too unruly for me.  Maybe it's time for a real nail salon manicure hehe.

Finally a China Glaze!

Oh heyy, I'm on spring break, I am not working and I only have a little bit of homework...therefore I will be posting TONS! First off, how fancy am I...my first China Glaze. EVER. I was so excited when I bought this polish last week in a mini haul you have no idea.  Believe me, there are more where this came from..this is starting to become a staple in my lot!

Today we have Oxygen by China Glaze. (sorry I can't put the name of the polish in the color, it would disappear! lol)

Eeek, dry cuticles! So I realize that there is a shadow in this picture but it kind of works to my advantage and I'll tell you why soon.  Anyway, remember in a past post I swatched a light pink color but I said I was hoping for something whiter/more opaque? (if you don't remember, its here).  Well, I found what I was looking for! This is pretty much a white polish but with the slightest pink tint to it (you can see the pink tint on my pointer finger and the color it looks like in most lights on the other fingers).  The application was awesome, totally a great first impression.  It was a great consistency, if anything a little watery, covering evenly in three coats.  As you can tell, there is still a little bit of visible nail line but nothing that was too bad, I figured four coats was a little too thick so I kept it at three.

I love the name of this polish for some reason, and so do my suitemates hahah. Every time one of them picks it up I'm like ITS CALLED OXYGEN hahha. I'm lame. Whateverr.

Okay well talk to you guys again tomorrow! Happy painting =)

Totally not as expected

I'm disappointed. The polish I used today was such a let down! Its First Blush by Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear.  It was SOOO not the color I expected it to be =(

Ok so I'm sure I should have expected this but the color was way too sheer.  This was three coats and you can still see the tips of my nails.  Aside from the color, the application was totally easy, but a little watery. The polish did not stay where I put it, making cleanup take super super long.  On a positive note the polish dried really quick (I even changed my pants right after I painted them and there was no smudging!).  Well, anyway the color is a middle ground between a white and a cream pink.  In my last post I had mentioned that I was on the prowl for a white/pink cream and although that is how I described this color...this is not what I had in mind.  I want something more like this...

See how much different?? Good thing I had this Sally from a few years ago and didn't buy it expecting a specific color. Expect another post in the next few days, I can't stand this color already.

Pink?

Yeahh, 2 posts in one night!
Okay get excited..because this doesn't happen too often, I used a pink =0 It was screaming at me from the shelf..BUY ME, BUY ME, so I had to. Its NYC Long Wearing Nail Enamel in Charming Rose Cream #126. Its a perfect pink that looks like exactly how the name describes it, Rose-y.

The application was only so-so but for the $1.99 price tag, ill take a tricky application. It took 2 coats to look decent but still didn't turn out how i wanted it to, which turns me even more off from pinks. Here's the deal, I'm into mates, I don't like any of these shiny/ iridescent colors...so maybe I need a mate pink..any suggestions? Well this is what it looks like, I hope you guys at least like it...

Do you see what I mean? Its such a rich great color and I couldn't capture it in a picture but it has a sort of metallic finish to it. All in all, nothing to rave about-therefore, there will probably be another post tomorrow to get this color off my nails.
