Claires Glitter Top Coat + OPI Red Shatter

Showing the holo base =)

Quick post for you guys today, I was really liking the red shatter I used in my 4th of July mani so I put it over Claires Glitter Top Coat. I used three coats of the glitter top coat to get it as an opaque base. Im telling you, this was a BITCH to take off as all glitters are. I don't know what I was thinking doing three coats of the glitter. stupid me hahhaha. Anyways I like this mani because looking at it in person it really looks like a fresh ripe strawberry, YUMM =)

OPI- Tickle My France-y

I've worn OPI's Tickle my France-y a million times before and decided it was time to show it on my blog. I showed it here in two different kind of lights, it's really a combination of the both. Its a sheer nude-y pink that I love with my olive skin tone (and I've seen it on other bloggers with fair skin tones and it looks gorgeous on them also).  This is one of my favorite OPI's and actually one of my first, it's so sophisticated and I even wore it on most of my recent job interviews. SO CLASSY. haha... Who else is in love!?

CG- Emerald Fitzgerald + OPI Silver Shatter

This one manicure had secured the OPI Silver Shatter as my favorite shatter/ crackle/ texture polish ever. The formula on this shatter is 100x better than the black because it doesn't clump up around the neck of the bottle or on the brush which is pretty much my only complaint about the black shatter. Although I am really looking forward to putting this over Mermaids Tears I'm LOVING it over this dark color. I think maybe next week I'll try it over the red that I got from Mandee =) Soo excitedd!!!!

China Glaze- Emerald Fitzgerald

Flash

Every single China Glaze I get makes me love the brand more and more. The formula on this brand is just amazing in my eyes, and this was no different. Emerald Fitzgerald was released in the 2010 Vintage Vixen Collection and it is a deep deep teal and is described as a 'frost' but personally I see tiny specks of glitter in it. Whatever it is theres no getting over the obvious shimmer that makes this polish so pretty. Now the obvious dupe for this polish is OPI's- Cuckoo for This Color which I reviewed here. The CG is  a deeper teal if you look really hard but to the regular joe they are pretty much the same (except I bought this polish for $2.99 and the OPI for $8.50).  This is another polish that from far away and to the naked eye has the 'almost black' look which you know I love in my vampies!

OPI- We'll Always Have Paris SUEDE

OPI- We'll Always Have Paris SUEDE

Artificial Light

This OPI is a dusty rose color with hints of purple and TONS of shimmer. This was my first suede ever and I think I believed they were greater than they actually are. As you can see in the third picture, five minutes after I painted my nails my thumb had already chipped. It really sucks because to get the 'suede' affect you can't put a top coat on and without a top coat the manicure lasts no more than a couple of hours (for me at least). The formula was a little thick but I think its just because of the texture of the suede so it wasn't heart breaking. Although I got this polish on clearance for $4.99 I don't even think it was worth that unfortunately. I think I'm going to put it up on my swap list on MUA.

I really thought I would like this polish more than I did, I'm really disappointed =(

China Glaze- Jitterbug + OPI Black Shatter

China Glaze- Jitterbug
Direct Sunlight
Artificial Light
China Glaze- Jitterbug + OPI Black Shatter
Direct Sunlight- NO TC

Artificial Light- WITH TC
Lets talk about Jitterbug for a hot sec. HOLY BAJESUS. For me and Jitterbug it was love at first sight...I know he felt it too haha. This polish has easily made it into my top 10 favorites just because of this mani. The consistency was what you would expect for a metallic, nothing bad I can say about it. Shown here is three coats. Another AH-MAZING thing about this polish was the price that I STOLE it for. Usually at ULTA and most other places, China Glaze retails for $6.50 USD, I got this little beauty on clearance for...wait for it........$2.99!!!!!!!! Score for lauren's stash =)

After I painted Jitterbug, I admit I should have stopped and kind of regret messing with such a great manicure but I really wanted to try the shatter again so I layered it over Jitterbug. Surprisingly the shatter was a lot more manageable than it was the first time I tried it. It was a lot less gloopy and thick which I was happy with.

The mani turned out really cute in my eyes but I can't wait to just use jitterbug alone for another mani!

OPI- Mermaid's Tears

OPI- Mermaid's Tears.

So we all have seen and heard the hype over the new OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection On Stranger Tides and especially this polish called Mermaid's Tears. I would describe Mermaid's Tears as kind of a sea- foam green maybe leaning a little bit blue, Tiffany's box blue with a hint of mint. However you describe it one this is certain...it is gorgeous. This was the one polish in the collex that really stood out to me and surprisingly I didn't own a dupe for it so thats when I knew I HAD to buy it.

Let me just be mad for one minute. I am not sure what is up with ULTA these days but WHY DON'T YOU WANT TO CARRY ANY SHATTER!?! When the black shatter came out, ULTA didn't have it...when the Serena French Open Duo's came out...ULTA didn't have the Red Shatter, and when this collex came out imagine what happened. ULTA DIDN'T HAVE IT! I am getting really p/o'ed with them right about now. I want my shatter for heavens sake!

Anyways hahah...I've got to say I really haven't had TOO much to rant about with OPI's formula. It rarely ever stays on my nails for more than a full day or through a shower but for some crazyyy reason, this one did. Maybe I was super duper extra careful because I adored my mani so much, idk but it was a real trooper for about 3 days!

A+ OPI, A+.

China Glaze- Bogie

China Glaze- Bogie

Part of the Vintage Vixen Collection introduced in Fall 2010, Bogie is a warm, dark plum color with a grey/black base LOADED with tons of shimmer. I used two coats for these pictures but if you did a thick coat you could get away with just one.  When I went to ULTA the day I bought this, it wasn't a polish I was necessarily looking for but the color is awesome and really..for $2.99, how could you not buy it!? I love ULTA's clearance section, it always has THE BEST deals, I love ULTA so much that I actually just applied for a job there earlier this week hahaha. Hopefully I get it =)

I heard OPI Have You Seen My Limo? from the 2007 Holiday in Hollywood Collex is a pretty great dupe but with the OPI being more of a green duochrome...does anybody agree?

Color Club- Sheer Disguise & OPI Shatter

I went kind of crazy the other day and bought a bunch of polishes :/ Hahha
-OPI Black Shatter, American Eagle (no name), China Glaze- Frostbite, Love & Beauty- Grey, Essie-Swing Velvet, Color Club-Sheer Disguise and Love & Beauty-Olive

The polish I'm showing today is part of the Color Club Alter Ego Collection: Reveal Your Mystery which was released this spring.  This is Sheer Disguise, a pastel cream blue which is laced with tons of grey undertones.  I used three coats for this manicure because the formula was a bit watery, but built fine with a few coats.

I love this color, out of the whole spring collection it may be my favorite but I'm really looking forward to also buying Revealed and Incognito (Check out a full review of this collection by Also Known As...)

So I finally cracked (no pun intended) and bought the OPI Black Shatter.  Here I just put it over my existing manicure and I have to say it was pretty scary when I put it on haha. You paint the black over your freshly painted nails and hope you don't ruin all your hard work lol. Anyways for my first time using the shatter I think I did a pretty good job, I heard it usually takes some practice to figure out how to do it but I think it paid off that I waited to buy it so I could see others reviews on it and hear their tips.

One thing I didn't really like was the fact that the polish gets SUPER SUPER gloopy after a use or two..I really need to invest in some polish thinner :/

OPI- Diva of Geneva

Good morning!! Here I am again with OPI's Diva of Geneva, another polish from the OPI Swiss Collex. It's a purple shimmer with a red base.  I've gotta tell you that I really didn't care for this color..its been on my lemmings list for a while but now that I have it and since I've tried it, it's not that great.

Oh my gosh guys, I know this is a crappy picture..all of the other pictures I took the polish turned out red (because of the red base obvs) and I had to capture this while I could, making it blurry.  I'm just not a big fan of this polish, its too close to pink for my liking, I thought it would be a little deeper of a color AND because it stained my skin like crazy as you can see. =(  I think ill try it again sometime in the near future to see if I warm up to it.

OPI- Cuckoo For This Color

Well hello everyonee,  IM BACKKKK!!!!! I know you were missing me..SOO, I decided to come back with a bang. This is such an amazing color =)

This is called Cuckoo For This Color by OPI

This polish is from the OPI Swiss Collection for Fall 2010.  I found this polish at CVS over Easter break from school and I just had to get it.  I also bought OPI Diva of Geneva which I will post next, along with  Sally Hansen Xtreme wear Crushed and Purple Pizzazz =) All in all a very good trip if I do say so myself! This is a blue/teal color with a black undertone.  For this manicure I didn't use any BC, I really don't at all anymore with any of my mani's, they just seem to say in tact for longer this way.

The consistency of this polish was superbbb, nothing I can complain about..NOTHING.

Do any of you have anything from the Swiss Collex? How do you like this polish?
