China Glaze- Emerald Fitzgerald

Flash

Every single China Glaze I get makes me love the brand more and more. The formula on this brand is just amazing in my eyes, and this was no different. Emerald Fitzgerald was released in the 2010 Vintage Vixen Collection and it is a deep deep teal and is described as a 'frost' but personally I see tiny specks of glitter in it. Whatever it is theres no getting over the obvious shimmer that makes this polish so pretty. Now the obvious dupe for this polish is OPI's- Cuckoo for This Color which I reviewed here. The CG is  a deeper teal if you look really hard but to the regular joe they are pretty much the same (except I bought this polish for $2.99 and the OPI for $8.50).  This is another polish that from far away and to the naked eye has the 'almost black' look which you know I love in my vampies!

Chameleon- Blue Frost

Where to even start, okay when I first bought this polish I was looking for a cheaper option to Misa's- Touch the Rainbow (from the Wishes Collection). Touch the Rainbow is a light sky blue with an iridescent shimmer. Although right off the bat this one obviously didnt have the iridescent shimmer it was the best match I had found thus far so I bought it hoping for the best. Maybe I'm just stupid but I really didn't think it would apply with such a foil texture. Here I used three coats but no matter how many coats I use this polish never looks good. Although the color/texture was pretty disappointing the wear time was even more dissapointing!!! The next picture is about TWO HOURS after I applied it (and a TC).

I really wouldn't suggest this polish to anyone just because of the wear time, its just a waste of your time really. This is the only Chameleon polish I've used so far so I can't write off the whole brand yet. Does anybody else have anything to say about this brand?

Mandee- Peeptoes

Artificial Light & Flash

Artificial Light & Flash
I got this polish from Mandee after I had an interview for a position there.  I was given a coupon after my interview so obviously had to go check out the polishes hahah. I got this one and two others =)

Peeptoes is a dark dark teal polish with a pretty crappy (thin) consistency BUT it was on sale for $1.49 so like the Essence polish (irreplaceable) I really cant complain because what do you really expect for that price? Anyways I think this polish really complimented my skin tone..although it made me look a little pale I think it looked good! It was so dark it had that 'almost black' look going which I think just looks SOO CHIC. Enough said, I'm in love.

Posts on the other polishes coming soon!

Update?

Hey fellow bloggers, I oh so badly need your opinion/suggestions here. Since my blog is growing bigger and bigger by the day I feel like if I'm going to make changes it needs to be now while I'm still young.  Anywhoo it's been bothering me a lot lately that my blog name doesn't match my URL, unfortunately I didn't too much research when I picked the name Lacquer Addict and the URL is already taken (but their blog isn't called Lacquer Addict, strange I know). I am trying to decide if a mismatching URL is even really a problem, I know though that a lot of people have gotten confused in the past.

What I'm asking you is,

1. Is it confusing enough where I should change it? (Even if it's not I'd kinda like a matching blog name/URL so I am going to change it either way hahah)

2. Can you give me some suggestions as to what my blog name should be? I want you guys to have some fun with this, I really want to hear your opinions! No name is a stupid name so please...fire away!!

Thanks so much in advance!!

Sunlight!-ish

Maybe a month or two ago I won one prize of Also Known As...'s 2,000 follower giveaway and this beauty was one of my gifts. This polish is a perfect teal and GREAT for summertime. I guess I'm really just negative but I wasn't expecting the formula of a Claire's polish to be so freakin awesomeeeeee!! This covered great in about three coats minus a few bald spots at the base of the nail..boy was I wrong. Anyways after I painted the Claire's polish i was looking through my stash and realized that I hadn't used the MNY silver sparkle that I got in my swap with AccroPolish so I added that on top. I love the final product..its about time I did something colorful and crazy! ahaha.

OPI- We'll Always Have Paris SUEDE

OPI- We'll Always Have Paris SUEDE

Artificial Light
Artificial Light
Artificial Light
Flash
This OPI is a dusty rose color with hints of purple and TONS of shimmer. This was my first suede ever and I think I believed they were greater than they actually are. As you can see in the third picture, five minutes after I painted my nails my thumb had already chipped. It really sucks because to get the 'suede' affect you can't put a top coat on and without a top coat the manicure lasts no more than a couple of hours (for me at least). The formula was a little thick but I think its just because of the texture of the suede so it wasn't heart breaking. Although I got this polish on clearance for $4.99 I don't even think it was worth that unfortunately. I think I'm going to put it up on my swap list on MUA.

I really thought I would like this polish more than I did, I'm really disappointed =(

Crazy new nail trend!

So my dad was reading the paper (New York Post) a few days ago and he cut out an article for me about the cutting edge new nail trends. I've got to say this trend blew my mind. All I can say is EWWW, but I'll let you decide for yourself.

Here's the article:

Yeah so you read right, Terri Silacci had the idea to put REAL SNAKESKIN on nails.  I was mulling through the article and it says that a mani/pedi combo with this snakeskin can cost upwards of $550!!! Also, if you were getting your hands and feet done simultaneously the whole process would still take 2 hours! I think this is just pretty gross, although the skin is only taken from the snakes AFTER it sheds and no snakes are actually harmed I just think this is crazy and totally unnecessary (especially for the price!). The third picture gives you step by step directions on how the salons (there are only 4 doing this right now) compete the mani/pedi's. (1. Nails prepared. Cuticles cleaned and cut, 2. A base coat applied, 3.Naturally shed snakeskin is cut and fit to nails, then saturated with a coat of Bio Sculpture Clear, 4. The snakeskin is then applied over the base color, 5. Next, the natural snake pattern is outlined with a contrasting color, and some "scales" are highlighted with a third complementary hue, 6. To remove, visit your salon for the soak-off treatment, which takes 20 minutes or so. There is an additional fee to have this done though which could be up to $20)

My dad likes to think that now he is on the cutting edge of ANYTHING nails and knows more that me on the topic because he found this before I did haha.  I think its cute he's getting involved.. he kind of reminds me of Jen of ThePolishAholic's dad who even lets her paint his nail(s) sometimes. My dad won't go that far but he's always researching the subject for me! Love it!

Okay so what do you think about this freaky fad? Hot or not?

Essence Colour & Go- Irreplaceable

Essence Colour & Go- Irreplaceable.

Okay DISCLAIMER: Before you look at the pictures...or the rest of the pictures I couldn't decide which picture I wanted to use so I am using both. This polish looks DRASTICALLY different in each picture. Here are my reasons for adding both: 1. I REALLY want it to look more like the first picture in real life. 2. My hands look really red in the 2nd picture, like I'm on fire red. 3. The color is actually a mix of the two... I couldn't get the picture to capture the color correctly so use your imagination.

OK NOW GO =)

See what I mean? I just can't decide which picture is best (color wise). I'm going to describe how it really looked and you decide on your own what you think. On the nail this polish looks like a light tan with hints of brown and taupe with small golden glitter running through. I'm really not going to go into much depth with this polish because I am going to do a re-post about it ASAP. I don't even know why I'm blogging about it right now..my pictures are horrendous (more than usual). Anyways for $.99 it was very worth it! This is four coats.

China Glaze- Jitterbug + OPI Black Shatter

China Glaze- Jitterbug
Direct Sunlight
Artificial Light
China Glaze- Jitterbug + OPI Black Shatter
Direct Sunlight- NO TC

Artificial Light- WITH TC
Lets talk about Jitterbug for a hot sec. HOLY BAJESUS. For me and Jitterbug it was love at first sight...I know he felt it too haha. This polish has easily made it into my top 10 favorites just because of this mani. The consistency was what you would expect for a metallic, nothing bad I can say about it. Shown here is three coats. Another AH-MAZING thing about this polish was the price that I STOLE it for. Usually at ULTA and most other places, China Glaze retails for $6.50 USD, I got this little beauty on clearance for...wait for it........$2.99!!!!!!!! Score for lauren's stash =)

After I painted Jitterbug, I admit I should have stopped and kind of regret messing with such a great manicure but I really wanted to try the shatter again so I layered it over Jitterbug. Surprisingly the shatter was a lot more manageable than it was the first time I tried it. It was a lot less gloopy and thick which I was happy with.

The mani turned out really cute in my eyes but I can't wait to just use jitterbug alone for another mani!

OPI- Mermaid's Tears

OPI- Mermaid's Tears.

So we all have seen and heard the hype over the new OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection On Stranger Tides and especially this polish called Mermaid's Tears. I would describe Mermaid's Tears as kind of a sea- foam green maybe leaning a little bit blue, Tiffany's box blue with a hint of mint. However you describe it one this is certain...it is gorgeous. This was the one polish in the collex that really stood out to me and surprisingly I didn't own a dupe for it so thats when I knew I HAD to buy it.

Let me just be mad for one minute. I am not sure what is up with ULTA these days but WHY DON'T YOU WANT TO CARRY ANY SHATTER!?! When the black shatter came out, ULTA didn't have it...when the Serena French Open Duo's came out...ULTA didn't have the Red Shatter, and when this collex came out imagine what happened. ULTA DIDN'T HAVE IT! I am getting really p/o'ed with them right about now. I want my shatter for heavens sake!

Anyways hahah...I've got to say I really haven't had TOO much to rant about with OPI's formula. It rarely ever stays on my nails for more than a full day or through a shower but for some crazyyy reason, this one did. Maybe I was super duper extra careful because I adored my mani so much, idk but it was a real trooper for about 3 days!

A+ OPI, A+.

New Bloggers!

So this may sound like I'm crazy because I myself am a new blogger but I've got a ton of new blogger friends that could use your help getting up and off the ground. Here are some of my favorite new bloggers...

Positively Polished- Sabrina has expressed a great interest in blogging and in my eyes is doing a great job.  She is genuinely interested in getting some feedback about how she is doing and I hope you guys can give her just that. She's such a sweet girl so I would love you forever if you can take a gander at her blog!

Lacquered Lover- Carly of Lacquered Lover is such an amazing blogger.  She is always on the cutting edge of all of the nail fads and does a great and very thorough job of blogging about them. I've known her for about a month now and I can really say she is really going places in the blogging world!

Nail-Newbie- Helen is the lovely lady behind Nail-Newbie blog and she is a mom of three from the UK. One thing I really like about her blog is that she shows gorgeous polishes that I have never seen/ heard about before (being from the UK and all) and ALWAYS does them justice with her amazing nail art. She also is one of my favorite new nail bloggers because she focuses on drugstore and cheap polishes rather than expensive ones that you will always long for but can never bring yourself to buy!

Noir Lacquer- Nicole is 23 and always spices up her posts with things other than polish. She has an art degree so I always love seeing her extras =) From what I also see, she is an amazing swapper so look out for her!

I hope you guys can check out these awesome bloggers and show them some love..thanks so much!!! (btw, I feel like this post would be naked w/o a picture so here is something random lol)

Confetti- Belle of the Ball

Confetti- Belle of the Ball

I got this polish from CVS a while back for no reason what-so-ever. It's been sitting in my stash for a while just collecting dust and the other day I finally decided to break it out.  Boy have I been missing out!! I'm not sure if its just the color but my nails look clean, long and healthy so I can't complain! Confetti is a kind of unheard of brand which I've only seen in CVS so far and its priced at $1.99. The colors are pretty plain, nothing that I haven't seen before in other brands but the formula and consistency kind of made up for that. Shown here is three coats but you totally didn't need it. As a cream you would think that the application would be a pain in the ass but it was just the opposite, just a dream to apply.

Are there any other Confetti's I need to have?

China Glaze- Bogie

China Glaze- Bogie

Part of the Vintage Vixen Collection introduced in Fall 2010, Bogie is a warm, dark plum color with a grey/black base LOADED with tons of shimmer. I used two coats for these pictures but if you did a thick coat you could get away with just one.  When I went to ULTA the day I bought this, it wasn't a polish I was necessarily looking for but the color is awesome and really..for $2.99, how could you not buy it!? I love ULTA's clearance section, it always has THE BEST deals, I love ULTA so much that I actually just applied for a job there earlier this week hahaha. Hopefully I get it =)

I heard OPI Have You Seen My Limo? from the 2007 Holiday in Hollywood Collex is a pretty great dupe but with the OPI being more of a green duochrome...does anybody agree?
